WHO WE ARE?

African Talents Academy (ATA) is a unique club developing talents of Extreme high school students and more other kids from the community through volleyball sport. We admit both boys and girls between 10-20 years of ages in regardless of their background.

The African Talents Academy is made up of some of the neediest and most vulnerable children in Uganda. Many have lost one or both parents to poverty or disease. The African Talents Academy helps these children break away from the everyday cycle of poverty and hopelessness.

As sports have become more and more competitive at national and international levels,  ATA has been set up to providing expert advice and direct training to students of Extreme High school and Nansana Community primary school in the key areas

        ·In addition to these social and emotional benefits, sports can also bring about insubstantial benefits to the school and community as a whole. “Sports also create important opportunities for students to contribute to the school community, which may cultivate an increased commitment to, or identification with, school and school values.”

This article will look closer at some of these benefits and how school administrators can factor these into their decisions regarding school-based sports programs.

Parents and teachers should continue to encourage young people to stay active to increase their quality of life.

The Bigger Picture

 “Physical activity can be added to the school curriculum without academic consequences and also can offer physical, emotional, and social benefits.” (Story, 2009) Sports programs are good for the individual and the whole.

 When these positive health behaviors combine with improved academic performance, it seems clear that educators should prioritize youth sports as a win-win situation for the school and for students.

African  Talents Academy (ATA) offers intensive sports training and coaching to students of Nansana community and Extreme High school designed to improve every individual’s sporting ability as well as education on all aspects of the game. 

By offering students a Physical Education Pathway we are recognizing and developing their gifts and talents,.
Recognition and development of a student’s gifts along with desired personal qualities will ensure a student has the necessary skill set to thrive in our ever-changing world.
Our students play sport while attending school. They are more dedicated to educational qualifications than sports as a professional career
we believe that the dream of sporting excellence should also go hand-in-hand with education.
